Shoshana Nambi, from Uganda’s Abayudaya Jewish community, is soon to be ordained by Hebrew Union College as a rabbi, and will captivate your audience with stories about growing up as an African Jew in a distant corner of the world. She is a dynamic speaker for an educational and/or family-centered presentation, for inter-religious or interracial groups, or for an academic gathering. Shoshana is presently the Rabbinic Intern at New York’s prestigious Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
Listen to Shoshana sing Hineh Ma Tov in her native language, Luganda, and in Hebrew. She also describes the Abayudaya community here – start with minute 2:00 and please listen until minute 8:00 to hear an excerpt of Shoshana both singing and speaking.
